About This Blog
A 20-something’s ramblings and musings on my love for the movies and actors that made Classic Hollywood so legendary. Some posts will be short and sweet, others will be lengthy and gushing. Movie recommendations will be frequent. There will be images and mp3’s sprinkled throughout because everyone loves multimedia, right? Right. So fasten your seatbelts, it’s going to be a bumpy…um, blog.
Also of note: I’m just a classic movie fan. I’m not a film scholar. I’m just a person who likes to talk about her favorite movies.
About Me
Since I like to talk about myself (I’m an only child. It explains a lot), here’s a short paragraph which should describe me in a nutshell.
I’m 28 years old. I work from home as a part-time graphic designer, which was also my major in college–to which I say, I made a huge mistake since I mostly do drudge design in the business frame. I mostly watch classic movies because I’m not too hot on the modern films that are released today. I like most genres, although silents really don’t do anything for me. My favorites would be MGM musicals, really good westerns and war movies, light comedies from the 30’s and 40’s and those soapy melodramas from the 50’s and 60’s. My favorite actors are Arthur Kennedy and Robert Ryan (I loooooove those two), closely followed by Fred Astaire, Joseph Cotten and Fredric March (I always liked the name Fred. Seriously, I had a huge crush on Fred Schneider from The B-52’s when I was a kid. Yeah, I know.)
For fun, I bake. A lot. I bake bread from scratch and roll out dough for pies and fill them with fruit fillings that are not from a can. I like to read tell-all biographies about actors, actresses and filmmaking as well. If I’m not watching classic movies, I’m either listening to my old school iPod (I like dance music–electronica, disco–, The Monkees, Astrud Gilberto, R.E.M., Pavement, 80’s new wave, 70’s funk and other assorted odds and ends) or usually watching Arrested Development, The Soup, The Odd Couple, Monty Python’s Flying Circus or my one guilty pleasure, Family Guy. I also enjoy one or two really, really, really trashy reality shows, but I refuse to say which ones because it’s not something I’d be proud to admit.
And this is more than you ever wanted to know about me.

Congratulations on your debut.
I’ll be back. You’ll find me sitting in the front row.

Monty Python and The Monkees with “The Odd Couple” to boot. No wonder I like reading your work. (Although I will part company on the reality shows.
Enjoying it all.
Me
I’ve always looked forward to seeing your well written posts on any discussion board where they appear, but the “look” of this blog is as welcoming as your prose. Now I understand why your blog has such a graphically clean and elegant, yet inviting look to it. Even your fonts are easy on the eye. Congratulations on the debut of what I hope will be a fine addition to the blogoshpere and your life.

A very enjoyable and well-written blog. I always enjoy the personal notes of film lovers, because I know I am not alone in my obsession with old movies. This blog, however, was informative as well as fun to read, and it looks great! Thanks for posting, and I especially liked your article on the Jean Arthur/Mary Martin connection. Your open-mindedness is much appreciated.
I noticed that you are a fan of classic movies. I’d like to invite you to a social network I started just for classic movie fans. It’s similar to MySpace but is exclusive to classic movie fans. I think you would really enjoy it. Here is the link:

Hope to see you there!
